UN Certificate for the Peacekeeping Operations Centre

The United Nations Integrated Training Service issued the Peacekeeping Operations Centre a certificate confirming that the UN Military Staff Officers Course was carried out in accordance with the applicable United Nations standards in the field of training for peacekeeping operations. The certificate was signed by Undersecretary General for Peacekeeping Operations, Mr Herve Ladsus, and the same is valid for four years.

With the aforementioned certificate, the Peacekeeping Operations Centre ranks among the internationally recognized training centres for peacekeeping operations, thus providing the conditions for improving the capabilities of the Centre for the implementation of international courses as well as for future cooperation with the UN Integrated Training Service in the field of participation in reaization of similar courses in other countries.

The course for staff officers is the first course that has been certified by the United Nations, which is a unique recognition of the Peacekeeping Operations Centre because it becomes visible and recognized globally in the field of training after only a decade of its founding and the beginning of the continuous increase in the scope of deployment of our soldiers in UN peacekeeping missions.

Bearing in mind that this is the first time that one organizational unit of the Serbian Armed Forces has offered the United Nations to assess the quality of services that the organization provides in the field of training, it is important to emphasize the words of representative of the Integrated Training Service Lieutenant Colonel Eric Sylvester Yeboah, who conducted the evaluation, that this is "if not the best, then certainly one of the best realized courses he had ever attended."

The Peacekeeping Operations Centre plans to launch the procedure of certification with the UN for two more courses next year.
